Fashion Forward - SJP's Turquoise Heels

It's the First Day Of Fall!! Yippeee!!!

I saw this picture of a very transitional "fall-ish" Sarah Jessica Parker, and I fell in love with her Turquoise Nicholas Kirkwood Heels. And the grey skinny jeans.  And the long asymmetrical top with the black leather jacket. And the fedora.

As soon as I get to wear heels again, those will be mine!!! Muah ha ha ha...

Ok, not those.  But something hopefully almost as fantastic with out the $$$$ price tag :>)

Anyway, her whole look inspired me to base a Decor Board off it!  I the downtown NYC vibe with that pop of turquoise.

The palette for this dining room follows the picture.  Smoky grays, silvers, jet black, and turquoise.  I wanted the turquoise to just pop out (like the shoes) in small but effective places.

The gray wood floors with the gray Shag Rug from Overstock.com in the same tones create the base of the room.  The walls could be any number of colors - a silvery gray, creamy white, or even turquoise.

I loved the darker silver opaque linen curtains from West Elm.  They would let a lot of light in.

The mirrored buffet from Z Gallerie is GORGEOUS! My sister Kacey actually has it, and I covet it!  When you buy in the store, all their furniture is 10% off too!

Like I said, I wanted the turquoise accents to pop, so I liked the tufted ottomans that can be moved around, or left under the window.   I also loved the 2 vases used on either side of a mirror or piece of artwork above the buffet.  And of course - the turquoise wine glasses!

The chandelier was my attempt at bringing in what looks like SJP's chain necklace.  I like the tough hardware look and the different colors that seem to shine out of it!

My favorite part is the NYC artwork from Z Gallerie!   It is in honor of the SATC queen and her downtown look.  (They also have a Los Angeles version :>)

Cheers to a Happy First Day of Fall!

xo,

  1. I am loving that NYC artwork from Z Gallerie as well. Here is a great link to a DIY version. It's not the exact one, but I still think it's too clever!

I'm planning on doing something similar in our house, only with Texas/local flair.
