"Hangin' By A Moment"

Organized.

I'm pretty sure we can never make that word past tense.  I mean, are we ever completely organized?  It's just one of those never-ending goals for me, like a consistent gym routine and drinking less wine.

As I continue my quest to be more organized today then I was yesterday, I bring you my new and improved jewelry holder!

Before, all my "dangly" earrings were heaped in the top drawer of my jewelry/lingerie chest.  An impossible situation, I tell you :>)  I could never find the pair I wanted to wear (running late = no time to look),  and even if I managed to locate one earring, it's mate had without a doubt gone into the witness protection program.

This framed jewelry holder was very easy to make.  I have lots of old frames lying around (and Michaels always has a bin of them!), so I chose to use this white one.  I purchased some thin wired mesh from Home Depot and measured out the size of the frame.  I cut out the rectangle with wire cutters, inserted it into the back of the frame as if it were a picture, put the glass on the back, and viola!

My frame is hanging in my closet above the lingerie chest with this little birdie I got on sale from Anthropologie.

In the upper 2 corners, I hammered in 2 flat head nails, leaving about a 1/4 to 1/2/ inch sticking out.  I tied a long piece of twine to both nails, making sure the knots were tight.

I'm toying with the idea of putting decorative knobs or even just a couple nails in the bottom to hang necklaces and bracelets from.  And you could always put in some fancy scrapbook paper or pretty fabric to dress it up even more.

That's it!  Very easy and MUCH more organized :>)

xo,
k
