Orange + Purple: Unexpected Combination

The obsession started with this photo:

Which I sort of fell in love with....immediately.  Orange and purple.  Such an unexpected color combination - outside of Halloween decor that is.  I love everything about this room.  From the lavender grasscloth wall paper, the black quatrefoil mirror, gold coffee table, vibrant sofa, patterned purple throw pillows and side chairs, and natural wood end tables. Add in the graphic black and white rug and black lampshades and it's over for me.

Yeah, I fell. Hard.

See for yourself.

You can go super fierce with it:

Or get all trendy and ColorBlock it!

Orange + Purple can be subtle...

Or BOLD

and BRIGHT

You could wear it....

...to play in

...to work out in...

or to just be hands down fabulous in!

So if it's desirable enough for the Tory Burch flagship store in NYC...

and breathtaking enough for nature to forever paint with...

Well, then it's certainly good enough for me.

I'm hooked!

Pinterest Favorites - Project!

I have to share a few of my recent most favorite "pins" I've come across on Pinterest lately.
Like most pinners, I feel there just aren't enough hours in the day, days in the year, years in a lifetime to be able to accomplish all the glorious-ness that is Pinterest.

Sigh.

First up! A great idea to keep track of the paint colors in your home. They suggest carrying the paint sticks dipped in each color and labeled for each room around with you so you can match it up when looking for home goodies.  Gen-ius!

I'm completely head over heels with this brass light fixture...and at $64???  I'll be having 2 please.

This will be my motto for the next 6 months.  Ok, for the rest of my life, but especially for the next 6 months.  Lots of change coming...I need to buy more lipstick :>)

Glitter keys? Wha? I mean, I can't really breath for how gorgeous and fun this is!  I'll be trying it. I will let you know if it actually works.

Cheers, dears.

Till next time:>)

Tangerine Tango!

It's out! Pantone's Color Of 2012 is..........

Tangerine Tango!

Head on over to Apartment Therapy for their take on it...

It's such a bright, uplifting color.  And it can be used many different ways.  From a full wall as shown in the above photo, to just a few orange accents thrown in a room.

Below are a few inspiration photos from our Pinterest page...what do you think? Will you incorporate tangerine tango into your home decor?

Vibrant, right?   Are you as excited as I am to start decorating?!  Well don't fret - We have a few pieces in the store to get you started...

Cheers to Tangerine Tango!

Wake On Up From Your Slumber...

My new favorite song is "Slumber" by NeedToBreathe....Listen:>)

Slumber

Days they force you back under those covers,
lazy mornings they multiply,
glory's waiting outside your windows.
Wake on up from your slumber, baby open up your eyes.

Tongues are violent, personal and focused,
tough to be with your steady mind,
hearts are stronger after broken.
Wake on up from your slumber, baby open up your eyes.

All these victims stand in line for,
crumbs that fall from the table just enough to get by,
all the while your invitation.
Wake on up from your slumber, baby open up your eyes.
Wake on up from your slumber, baby open up your eyes.

Take from vandals all you want now,
please don't trade it in for life,
replaced your feeble with the fable.
Wake on up from your slumber, baby open up your eyes.
Wake on up from your slumber, baby open up your eyes.

All these victims stand in line for,
crumbs that fall from the table just enough to get by,
all the while your invitation.
Wake on up from your slumber, baby open up your eyes.
Wake on up from your slumber, baby open up your eyes.

Sing like we used to,
dance when you want to,
taste for the breakthrough open wide.

All these victims stand in line for,
crumbs that fall from the table just enough to get by,
all the while your invitation.
Wake on up from your slumber, baby open up your eyes.
Wake on up from your slumber, baby open up your eyes.
Wake on up from your slumber, baby open up your eyes.

Come on, sing like we used to,
and dance like you want to.
Come on darlin' open your eyes.
I wanna sing like we used to.
I wanna dance like we want to.
Come on darlin' open up your eyes.

Guest Blogging in the Bedroom

Hello!!!  Happy Thursday!  It's been a busy week...my sister flew into town to record a jingle (yes, jingle...can't wait to tell you all about it!) and I've been fighting off a cold while trying to play catch up with work....I'm really looking forward to the weekend :>)

Anyway, you can find me today on Cooper-Grey's blog .....My very first guest post! So exciting!  I'm talking all about the bedroom.  How to add TEXTURE to the bedroom by layering fabrics, colors, finishes, and more.

So skip on over to Ceri's blog and read all about it! Oh, and tell her hello too!

Wedding 101 Experience Tent

The Pink Bridal show was last weekend downtown at the Nashville Convention Center.  This year, Wedding 101 had a 30x30 tent where we could house a lot of our vendors and show off some amazing inspiration.  Our idea for designing the tent was to create 4 different vignettes, one in each corner of the tent: "Rock 'N Roll Glam", "Classic Couture", "Vintage Chic", and "Urban Sleek".

It was a lot of work (I definitely didn't feel guilty for not makin' it to the gym.) but completely worth it!  The tent looked great!

Rock 'N Roll Glam:

Color Palette:
Black, White, Hot Pink, Silver
Details:
Short dresses, long pearls, candy bar, tarnished silver cake stand and candelabra,
hang open black gothic frames

Classic Couture

Color Palette:
Ivory, Champagne, Gold
Details:
Long, elegant, high fashion dresses, Crystal Chandelier, Gold mirrors, classic rose bouquet, Traditional with a twist: Glass apothecary jars as centerpieces

Vintage Chic

Color Palette:
Ivory, Raspberry, Tan, Pale Yellow
Details:
Vintage Lace dress, Silk fringe bunting, shabby chic props, DIY felt flowers and bell "send-off" wands, baby's breath bouquet and boutonniere

Urban Sleek

Color Palette:
White, Silver, Black, Plum, Lavender
Details:
Long, modern dresses, simple and sparse table scape: tall calla lillies, square place settings, crystal drops on light, brushed silver table and mirror, clear chiavari chairs

Which is your favorite??
