Sunday Funday

I loved that sign!  Billy and I spent our first Sunday together in a month this past weekend.  We decided to head on down to Franklin to browse the little shops and antique stores off Main Street and on.  And when our stomachs started growling, we popped into 55 South.  Neither of us had ever been before, and we had such a great time! 

The vibe of the restaurant is industrial but cozy with lots of exposed brick, reclaimed wood furniture, and amazing mason jar pendant lights.  They have a New Orleans influenced menu - with oysters, jambalaya, and gumbo as the stars.  Mardi gras beads dripped from chandeliers.  And when Kirk Herbstreit walked in with his wife and 4 blonde tykes, Billy was preee-tttty excited.  Ok, fine, I was too. I mean, come on, COLLEGE GAME DAY STARTS THIS WEEKEND!

Great WWII gallery wall - so much character and personality.

Had to take a pic of the '55 South' Hurricane recipe that we both ordered.  Delicious!
